Jio MAMI has chosen Sonam Kapoor who is known for her roles in Neerja, Raanjhanaa and Khoobsurat, as the brand ambassador for ‘World to Screen’.
Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is returning after a hiatus of three years with its in-person edition, scheduled to occur from October 27 to November 5 in this city.
‘Word to Screen’ is a special market. Here writers, publishers, and filmmakers can come together to explore and adapt stories into different film formats, as described by the event organisers.
Jio MAMI introduced this event in 2016, and it has been a vibrant and inclusive platform ever since, focusing on the connection between written stories and the world of cinema.
I’m thrilled to engage in conversations about the storytelling impact in cinema with authors and filmmakers during the event. I look forward to sharing ideas and, hopefully, playing a role in furthering an industry that has been incredibly rewarding for me, she expressed.
According to the media sources, some of the books that have been selected through the Word to Screen market include famous titles like “Bhujia Barons” by Pavitra Kumar. “Indira” by Sagarika Ghose. The “Inspector Saralkar” series by Salil Desai. “Strangers to Ourselves” by Shashi Deshpande. “The Ivory Throne” by Manu S Pillai. “The Spectacular Miss” by Sonia Bahl. “How I Became A Farmer’s Wife” by Yashodhara Lal, and “Cold Truth” by Nikhil Pradhan.
